Materialism smashes power. If your life is the pursuit of money so that you can buy luxuries or have more than the other guy, your power is already diminished.
Materialism is ephemeral and its satisfaction fleeting. Keeping up with the Jones’ is futile. Rather, enjoy abundance as a giver. Your identity should never entirely be wrapped up in what you have.

Check out your inner needs. ASK: What gives me the most pleasure? What elevates my feelings of self-worth? What am I doing to serve others? What are my standards of excellence?
